Amazing.

6:11 am. Turning south, the view out my windshield reveals a beacon on the hill ahead of me.

6:14 am. After a brief stop for a bagel, I headed on my way again, anticipating my respite from the world.

6:18 am. Now headed west, I can see each of the following pillars of light in the distance, the first of which is where my early morning journey is taking me.

Amazing. Three temples in one valley, all visible to me that morning within 7 minutes of driving. An inspiring vision of peace and permanence in this turbulent and ever-changing world.

All of the pain and suffering and tribulations and death of the pioneers were worth it, with these three temples representing just a fraction of the fruits of their sacrifice. And so, to my ancestors and all those who gave up so much and saw so little reward on this earth, but who worked to give me (and future generations) blessings unmeasured, I say thank you.
